It All Started with A Korean Odyssey

The intoxicating scent of her blood. The constant battle to fight the need to feed.

Most probably it was the shades of the Twilight saga that grabbed me; but, the similarities end there. For we have a scoundrel of a hero who, without shame, bargains with the heroine to be the only monster to feast on her scrumptious blood. In return, he will guard her against all the other monsters who are after her, until, at her behest, he painlessly kills her himself.

To protect herself from her so called savior, Jin Seon Mi (played by Oh Yeon Seo), tricks the Monkey King, Son Oh Gong (played by Lee Seung Gi), into wearing a magical bracelet that forces him to be in love with her, a love so encompassing that Son Oh Gong will literally destroy a whole world just to save her.

The intriguing question is -- will Son Oh Gong still love Jin Seon Mi once the geumganggo (magical bracelet) is removed? Or, will he devour her as he originally intended?

Thus, A Korean Odyssey aptly began my journey into the world of Korean drama.
